What I Learned At The DMV

Because I tend to procrastinate with things I hate to do, I did exactly that on Monday. What is that, you ask? Well, I turned the big 7-0 last week, so of course I waited until the last possible minute to get my new license photo taken.

I stupidly tried to get an appointment online but my computer practically laughed in my face. The earliest I could get in was late August. So I did the next best thing — I signed up online to reserve a place in line. I was G-031 so 11 people were ahead of me. When I became number six in line, I headed to the Novato DMV.

My Friend, The Know It All

My friend Hilary is a bit of a know-it-all. But that’s only because she knows it all. She really does. Seriously, who needs Google when you have Hilary? Knowing that, you’d wonder why I didn’t listen to her advice not long ago, wouldn’t you? Believe me, I won’t make that mistake again.

In early 2021, my beloved 2003 BMW convertible was headed for car Heaven. I contacted a couple dealerships, settling on Lexus of Marin because they offered me the most moola. I thought, what’s that about?fees ahead Continue reading

Pet Peeves, Chapter 2

Pet PeevesIf you’re under the impression my Pet Peeves blog in July of 2013 was my entire list of peeves, you’re sorely mistaken. I’d say something ticks me off pretty much every week. When I factor in all the driving I do with our feral cat rescue, I seem to have ample opportunity to figuratively wring the necks of enough drivers to fill an overstocked Toyota sales lot.

Yes, dear friends, there are simply too many pet peeves for me to list in one blog. So what follows is 4 among, no doubt, many more… Continue reading
